About the FSO
The Fredericksburg Symphony Orchestra is a professional 75-piece orchestra performing at the James Monroe Auditorium in Fredericksburg, VA, under Music Director Dr. Kevin P. Bartram. Founded in 2021, the FSO's mission is "Building a Great Community with Great Music" — bringing world-class orchestral performance to Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline, King George, Fauquier, and Prince William.

Sept 19, 2026 — Season Opener: Symphonic Flashbang! (Tchaikovsky Sym. No. 4, Copland Rodeo, 1812 Overture)
Oct 24, 2026 — Classical Masterworks: Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto (Timothy Chooi, violin)
Dec 18–19, 2026 — Holiday Pops (two performances)
Feb 13, 2027 — Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 (George Li, piano)
Apr 10, 2027 — Let's Go on Safari! (family concert, narrated by Jeff Corwin)
May 22, 2027 — Season Finale: Beethoven's Ninth (with Washington National Opera Chorus)
The Position
The FSO seeks a Principal Bass to lead the bass section for the 2026–27 season. This is a per-service position covering rehearsals and concerts across all six programs listed above.
