Principal Tuba

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra invites applications for the position of Principal Tuba.

The successful candidate will be a musician of the highest calibre, with relevant orchestral experience, confident and accurate sight-reading skills, and a strong collaborative approach. They will have a clear understanding of the tuba’s role within the orchestra, alongside the flexibility and willingness to engage with the wide-ranging repertoire, engagements, and community & education projects integral to the RPO's work.

By way of application, candidates should complete the anonymous portfolio form on the Musicalchairs portal by the closing date of 04/10/2026. Auditions will be held in London on the morning of 23/11/2026.
