Concertmaster

The candidate taking up the position has to be laureate of the audition and fulfill the general conditions for admission. Non-EU candidates have to comply with the laws of immigration.

The candidate is recruited on the basis of fulltime employment (100%) with salary 5921,10€ (gross salary with 0 years of validated experience) based on scale NA31. Valorisation of relevant work experience is regulated by law for the BNO. Are taken into account: all full time work experience while contracted with a contract of indefinite term at the following orchestras:

· La Monnaie/De Munt

· Orchestre philharmonique Royal de Liège

· Antwerp Symphony Orchestra

· Brussels Philharmonic

· Opéra Royal de Wallonie

· Opera Ballet Vlaanderen

· Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie

The laureate who takes up the position is offered a contract of unlimited duration with two evaluations: one after 6 months (mid-term evaluation) and the last one after 12 months. A positive evaluation after 12 months is required to officially employed with unlimited duration at the Belgian National Orchestra.

The candidate interprets and performs solo’s and collective violin parts. In addition he/she assists the conductor and leads and coordinates the different sections within the orchestra during rehearsals, concerts and, when applicable, recordings.

In doing so he/she ensures the orchestra functions as effectively as possible and contributes to an optimal interpretation of the works programmed.
