Cello Bow:

Very fine, certified, fully silver mounted master bow, made ca. 1930 by R. H. Pfretzschner

Precio: EUR 6.800.─
Rare bow in a fine state of preservation with marvellous playing characteristics ─ high tension, immediate response, and a mature, clear, rounded, large and powerful tone ─, made by Richard Hermann PFRETZSCHNER (1887─1958), eldest son of Hermann Richard (1857─1921), arguably the best-known member of the PFRETZSCHNER family dynasty of master bow makers.

■ weight: 80.28 gr.
■ centre of mass: 9.35 in.
■ total length: 712 mm
■ length of stick: 696 mm

What makes it rare is the special type of pin Richard chose to fix the heelplate next to the pearl slide. Richard learned his craft in the workshop of his father. In 1914, he and his brother took over the workshop and successfully led it through wars and economic crisis.
In terms of wood quality, craftsmanship and playability, the workshop's best bows since the takeover until the 1960s are equal to their father's work.
