Jonathan Hai Cremona 2007

This cello was made during the maker's studies at the Stradivari Violin Making School in Cremona, under the guidance of Giorgio Scolari, a detail also noted on the original label. A few years later, the maker professionally modified the instrument, applying a new antique varnish, executing a neck reset, and inserting an updated label.

I have owned this cello for over 15 years and have successfully used it for extensive chamber music, concerto work, and cello-piano duos. The instrument is exceptionally projective, yet maintains a beautiful, rich tone for the player, making it an ideal partner for both chamber and solo performance. The only reason for selling is a personal shift in focus, as I am now concentrating on instrument making myself and will soon begin my first cello build. I prefer to pass this fine instrument to a new owner who will fully utilize and enjoy its qualities.
