The University of Sydney is hiring full-time and part-time continuing academic staff at Lecturer (Level B) and Senior Lecturer (Level C) levels to join the Sydney Horizon Educators cohort at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

These education-focused roles are designed for passionate educators committed to excellence in teaching and learning. You’ll contribute to curriculum design, delivery, and evaluation, while also engaging in research related to your discipline or educational practice. The role breakdown is approximately 70% teaching, 20% research, and 10% governance and engagement.

Successful candidates will have access to apply for specialist grants of up to $30,000 to support education-related activities, including scholarship of teaching and learning and improving educational offerings.

We are currently recruiting for:

Senior Lecturer in Cello (Education Focused) - Join a dynamic String Faculty with a strong industry reputation. Ideal candidates will be inspirational teachers with tertiary-level experience, recognised performers across classical genres, and have strong industry connections. A clear plan for future research or professional practice is essential.

Salary ranges from $127,436 to $179,998 p.a. (pro-rata for part-time) plus 17% superannuation. The University of Sydney is ranked 25th globally (QS 2026) and 2nd in Australia for sustainability, offering a vibrant and supportive academic environment.
