The Reina Sofía School of Music opens a call for applications for the position of accompanying / collaborative professor pianist teacher of the Telefónica Violin Chair. The work of the accompanying / collaborative professor pianist is coordinated and combined with the teaching duties of the principal violin teacher and his assistant professor, as well as another professor pianist with whom the overall number of students is shared. They all focus not only on musical attendance at the classes of the tenured professor, but also on the teaching of instrumental repertoire with piano accompaniment, in any of the official courses (degree in higher artistic education in music, Master's Degree in Musical Performance) or non-official (Diploma in Performance, preliminary courses for the Bachelor's or Master's degree).

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE ACCOMPANYING PIANIST TEACHER: The Telefónica Violin Chair consists of 14 students for the 2026-27 academic year. The Accompanist / Collaborative Pianist Professor’s responsibilities mainly include:
• Approximately 350 hours per year of teaching collaboration, expandable depending on needs and prior written agreement with the School.
• Offer one hour per week of individual joint work with each student of the chair, for each academic year between September 2026 and June 2027.
• Be fully available during the main lecturer visit periods, for the academic year between September and June.
• Be fully available during visiting periods of international artists for master classes (1 or 2 days per visit, dates to be determined in each academic year).
• Accompany the students of the chair in the teaching concerts (two quarterly concerts) in the SONY Auditorium of the School.
• Accompany the students of the Chair in their end-of-degree recitals or end-of-master's concerts, if any, in the period from May to June 2027.
• Availability to attend concerts and activities outside school hours, both inside and outside the School's headquarters.
• Accompany candidates in the annual auditions of the chair (face-to-face), usually on a date to be determined in March.
• To enhance the self-critical sense of each student and their initiative in individual and personalized study, from the detailed analysis of the score.
• Provide help and indications to students in the appropriate stylistic and sound conception of each work.
• Provide musical support to the piano for the artistic and technical indications of the main teacher.
• Participate in the faculty meetings of the chair (quarterly).
• Submit constructive written commentaries and assessments of students' educational progress (quarterly).
• Submit grades in accordance with the requirements of the teaching guides and proposals of the relevant study program (annually).
• Being qualified to officially sign qualification reports annually.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Qualification: Spanish Higher Degree / Bachelor’s degree in performance or an officially recognized equivalent in Spain.
• Experience: Experience as a collaborative pianist will be valued.
• Languages: Intermediate level of spoken and written English and Spanish.

PROFESSIONAL ENGAGEMENT:
• Contract type: The service will be provided under a self-employment regime.
• Remuneration: From € 40.00 gross / hour depending on the profile and experience provided.
• Start date: 1 October 2026.
