Peripatetic Guzheng Teacher

The Abbey School has a thriving Music Department with over 250 instrumental lessons taking place each week, alongside a busy programme of very accomplished ensembles.

This is a new position within the music department at The Abbey School and is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Guzheng teacher looking to contribute to the further development of the department and the wider school community.

This post will require the successful candidate to deliver individual 30-minute lessons in Guzheng to pupils between the ages of 11-18. This is an exciting opportunity for the postholder to nurture interest in East Asian music both with individual students and within the wider school community. A deep knowledge and enthusiasm is essential, as well as a track record of group performance at a high level. The successful candidate will be expected to play an important role in widening extra-curricular opportunities as and when the need arises. Working with students at The Abbey is extremely rewarding. Pupils exhibit a high level of enthusiasm and motivation.
