Associate concertmaster (2nd and 3rd chair, with obligation to 1st Concertmaster)

We have an open position for “Associate concertmaster (2nd and 3rd chair, with obligation to 1st Concertmaster)”.
The audition will take place on Sunday 1st of February 2026, at 10:00 AM in DR Studio 4 Koncerthuset, Emil Holms Kanal 20, 2300 København.

Orchestra round will take place on Monday 2nd of February 2026, at 10:00 AM in The Concert Hall of The Royal Danish Academy of Music.
REPERTOIRE:
- 1st mvt. of W.A. Mozart, Violin Concerto no. 3, 4 or 5, with cadenza.
- 2nd mvt. of W.A. Mozart, Violin Concerto no. 3, 4 or 5, with cadenza.
- 1st mvt. with cadenza of one of the following concertos:
Brahms, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius or Nielsen.
- Orchestral excerpts.
Shortly after the deadline, the jury will review all applicants and categorize them into three groups: direct invitation to the 1st round, invitation to the pre-round via video, or not invited.
Orchestral excerpts will be ready for download 1st of December 2025 on: www.copenhagenphil.dk/jobs/
Tuning: 442 Hz
An accompanist will be provided at the audition. Applicants are responsible for all expenses related to travel and rehearsal.
Timeline:
• Application deadline: 8th of December 2025
• 12th of December 2025: All applicants will be informed whether they are invited directly to the first round, must submit a video recording, or not invited.
• Video submission deadline: 7th of January 2026.
• 14th of January 2026: Candidates who have submitted a video will be informed whether they are invited to the first round or not.
Salary and conditions of employment are negotiable under the current agreement for musicians in the Danish Regional Orchestras (Landsdelsorkestrene). Preparing weeks are subject to individual negotiation upon employment. Employment of non-EU residents is contingent upon obtaining valid work and residence permits. Applicants are responsible for any costs associated with obtaining these permits.
