The International Piano Competition Memorijal Jurica Murai & Murai Grand Prix is one of Croatia’s leading events dedicated to piano art. Founded in honor of pianist and academician Jurica Murai, it promotes young talents, artistic excellence, and international cultural exchange. The competition holds significant cultural, artistic and educational value.
The competition is divided into 2 parts, which together form a single entity — bearing the name of the Croatian pianist and academician Jurica Murai, and that of the organizer, Varaždin School of Music. Memorijal Jurica Murai is intended for young pianists up to 19 years of age, while the Murai Grand Prix is a competition for pianists and artists aged 17 to 32.
Its jury this year includes prominent Croatian and international musicians such as Katarina Krpan, Dina Yoffe, Akemi Alink, Massimiliano Ferrati, Srboljub Dinić, Filip Fak, and Carles Lama, ensuring high artistic and professional standards.
