Assistant Platform Manager (Fixed Term Contract)
£29,744 p/year
The Assistant Platform Manager is responsible for assisting in the daily logistics for the operation of the CBSO’s rehearsals and performances in the UK and beyond. As well as having responsibility for the management of the CBSO’s transport and casual team.
HOURS: 40 hours per week
LOCATION: Birmingham based but with a regular requirement to travel in the UK and internationally
REPORTING TO: Platform Manager
REQUIREMENTS: Full Clean HGV Driving License
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Platform Manager with daily logistics for CBSO performances and rehearsals.
Set up stages, risers, chairs, stands, lighting, and instruments for concerts and rehearsals.
Transport, store, and maintain instruments, cases, and related equipment.
Drive CBSO vehicles and travel on UK and overseas tours to ensure safe equipment transport.
Manage and maintain CBSO vehicles, keeping records and ensuring roadworthiness.
Oversee tachograph compliance and manage hired or replacement vehicles.
Deputise for the Platform Manager during rehearsals, setups, and concerts.
Arrange refreshments for the orchestra when required.
Support CBSO ensembles and the Youth Orchestra with logistics and setups.
Act as Duty Manager for CBSO ensemble events at the CBSO Centre.
Assist in booking and supervising permanent and casual platform staff.
Complete and submit timesheets, purchase orders, and finance documents.
Promote safe working practices and uphold health and safety standards.
Maintain professional standards and contribute to CBSO operations.
Undertake other duties as directed by the Platform Manager or Department Director.
