Open Call for composition for String Orchestra

Cherubim Music Trust is holding a competition for a single movement work for string orchestra of 5-7 minutes, to be rehearsed and performed as part of Cherubim Strings Project 2025 on 1+2 November by Cherubim Chamber Strings (music college proficiency), conductor Arturo Serna in Tisbury, Wiltshire. It is open to any composer resident or studying in the UK. There is an entry fee of £15. A prize of £500 will be awarded to the winner with travel expenses to attend the premiere. The successful composer will be required to produce professional quality orchestral parts.
It will be judged by the director and deputy director of Cherubim Music Trust, and the principal criteria will be beauty, originality and practicality. Please submit a PDF (& mp3 demo if available). All entries will be acknowledged, and a winning entry declared by mid September. Submissions will not be returned, and the judges decision is final.
