CPI Summer Conducting Seminar
31 May - 04 Jun, 2026
Conductors - from advanced students to experienced professionals - work with renowned pedagogue Markand Thakar to increase effectiveness on the podium, to build musical understanding, and to advance career prospects.
TECHNIQUE
At CPI we identify the muscle tensions that limit your effectiveness, free those muscles, and apply the freed arms to the sounds: the way toward technical mastery. The program includes a day of intensive focus on challenging mixed meter passages.
MUSICIANSHIP
Career longevity is tied to our musicianship - how we inspire and move our musicians & audiences. Informed by Maestro Thakar's work with Celibidache, we focus on bringing about the most moving, most beautiful performances.
FELLOWS have ca. 90 minutes conducting our professional musicians. You will receive video of all your conducting sessions, including a performance-level full run-through usable for applications.
ASSOCIATES participate fully in ALL activities beyond conducting the ensembles.
