Blue Danube International Opera Conducting Masterclass 2024 (I)

Probably the best training in opera conducting in the world with State Opera Stara Zagora, a top professional European house. Hundreds of conductors have developed their opera conducting skills with us since 2002. Conductors with little experience conducting opera can opt to use most or all of their time conducting Il trovatore while more advanced conductors may choose to work mostly or exclusively on the Bizet. Our first of two opera conducting masterclasses in 2024 features Maestro Niels Muus of Vienna coaching 8 selected conductors in rehearsals and public performances of Verdi's Il Trovatore and Bizet's Les pêcheurs de perles (The Pearl Fishers) -- each fully-staged, costumed and sung in original languages with the house's soloists. Separate orchestra and choir rehearsals, stage and cast rehearsals, Sitzproben (soloists and choir seated on stage with the orchestra in the pit), dress rehearsals and performances.The house's renowned ballet division performs in both operas.
