Invites applications for the permanent position of

2nd CONCERTMASTER (third chair)

The audition will be held at Turku Concert Hall on Mon 3rd of June 2024 starting at 13:00 (1 PM).

Audition Repertoire
- W. A. Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 3 K.216, No. 4 K.218 or No. 5 K.219, 1st movement with cadenza
- A Romantic violin concerto of candidate’s choice, 1st movement with cadenza
- Orchestral and chamber music excerpts: The excerpts list is available on orchestra's website https://tfo.fi/en/openvacancies

The excerpts will be sent to the applicants after the closing date.
The audition may also include an interview (in Finnish or in English).

Applications
The closing date for the applications is Thursday 2nd of May 2024 at midnight, 24:00 PM (GMT+2 Finnish time). For applying, please fill the online application form available on Musicalchairs.

Invitations to attend the audition will be sent to selected candidates by email after the closing date. Delayed applications or applications sent by e-mail will not be taken into consideration.

If a member of the orchestra will be chosen to the vacancy of 2nd Concertmaster, his/her vacancy can be filled by this audition.

Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, Finland is a professional full-time orchestra of 74 musicians, established in 1790. The City of Turku is building a new Music Hall for the orchestra, scheduled to celebrate its first performances in 2026.
