Principal Trumpet

The Oslo Philharmonic, under the leadership of Chief Conductor Klaus Mäkelä, invites highly qualified candidates to apply for the position of Principal Trumpet, with an obligation to play tutti trumpet. The section has two equal principal positions, each with the same obligation to play both solo and tutti parts. We are looking for a dedicated orchestral musician who is willing to invest in and actively contribute to our orchestra's inner life and its continued artistic development.

All candidates are requested to apply with a CV and a letter of interest by November 7, 2025.

After the application deadline, candidates may be asked to supplement their application by submitting a video with excerpts. Due to limited time on the audition day, most candidates should be prepared for such a request.

The contents of the recording is specified in the "Video Requirements" section.

The deadline for submitting the video will be December 5, 2025.

Qualified candidates will be invited to the audition, with invitations to be sent by December 15, 2025.

The audition will take place in Berlin on January 26, 2026. Location: TBA.

Excerpts will be sent electronically to all invited candidates. The audition will be held without accompaniment.

Successful candidates will be invited to trial weeks and orchestra round in the Oslo Philharmonic.
