Principal Tuba

Jönköpings Sinfonietta is looking for a Principal Cello for a varied repertoire with everything from symphonic music to stage productions and chamber music. With us, you get to collaborate with leading conductors and soloists in a creative environment at Kulturhuset Spira.
Role as Principal Tuba
Jönköping Sinfonietta offers a full-time permanent position, with a trial year, for the role of Principal Tuba. The role also includes playing the Cimbasso.
Your Future Workplace
Jönköping Sinfonietta is a dynamic orchestra of 31 musicians and an integral part of Kulturhuset Spira, a vibrant performing arts center. Kulturhuset Spira presents symphonic music, opera, musical theatre, spoken theatre, dance productions, concerts, and performances for children and young audiences, as well as chamber music. We collaborate with internationally renowned conductors, soloists, directors, and choreographers. As Principal Tuba, you will also be a member of the brass quintet John Bauer Brass. John Bauer Brass has made a name for itself through its innovative and joyful way of working with music and meeting the audience where the audience is. Every year, they give well-received concerts in both churches and concert halls for children and adults alike.
Since 2023, Johannes Gustavsson is the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of Jönköpings Sinfonietta.
Our main venue is the concert hall at Kulturhuset Spira, which has fantastic acoustics. We also tour on regular basis in the Region of Jönköping.

Repertoire:
1st round: Vaughn-Williams - Tuba concerto - 1st & 2nd movements. With cadenza in 1st mvt.
2nd round: Bordogni-120 Melodious Etudes-no. 4 andante cantabile - Without piano accompaniment.
