1st soloist horn (co-section leader) with obligation 3rd and 5th

The laureate who takes up the position is offered a contract of unlimited duration with two evaluations: one after 6 months (mid-term evaluation) and the last one after 12 months. A positive evaluation after 12 months is required to officially employed with unlimited duration at the Belgian National Orchestra.

The candidate works closely with the section leaders, all other members within the section and all the colleagues that are employed at the Belgian National Orchestra. He/she interprets and performs all orchestral parts for 1st or 3th horn, among which solo’s, and contributes to an outstanding performance. Whenever the section leader is not available he/she assures the coordination within the own section during rehearsals, performances and recordings to make sure the section functions the most optimal way. He/she assures the leadership and exemplary behavior that comes with the function. He/she takes part in auditions and acts as a coach for occasional academy students or occasional additional players within the section.
