Concertmaster I

The Stavanger Symphony Orchestra (SSO) has become one of Scandinavia’s most successful orchestras.
The orchestra has experienced significant artistic development in recent years together with an increase in audience numbers, both in Norway and abroad. The new internationally acclaimed concert hall, from 2012, has contributed to the SSO’s further growth. The Orchestra is a democratic organization where the musicians have a unique opportunity to influence both artistic development and working conditions. The Orchestra has 85 musicians from 23 countries and a staff group with 16 employees.
We are surrounded by beautiful nature, close to both mountains and ocean, so you have plenty of possibilities for outdoor activities when you are not working.
Stavanger also offers a wide range of cultural events, and the city was European Capital of Culture 2008.
