Assistant Conductor/ Conductor in Residence

The Royal Swedish Opera Stockholm is actively searching for a highly talented and musical individual to fill the role of Assistant Conductor/ Conductor in Residence for the 2027/2028 season.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a conductor to contribute his or her skills, working with and learning from the Music Director Alan Gilbert and renowned guest conductors. The Assistant Conductor, who will support the musical vision and artistic standards of the Music Director, will collaborate closely with Mr. Gilbert as well as all guest conductors to ensure that each production is realized to its fullest potential. He/ she will assist with the musical preparation of the orchestra as well as singers, and will be called on to conduct opera and ballet performances at the Royal Swedish Opera. Moreover, the opera expects the position to grow over time and offer the assistant conductor his/ her own concerts and smaller productions.
