A fine French violin by Gustave Bernardel, Paris, 1900, bearing the original label and fire branding. Formerly sold in Tarisio’s Fine sale and accompanied by provenance documentation.
The violin is in excellent structural condition with no cracks or repairs, only minor wear consistent with age. It retains a warm, transparent amber-brown varnish typical of Bernardel’s late Paris period, with elegant arching and finely executed purfling.
Tonally, it offers a rich, refined French sound: singing treble, warm lower register, and fast response, well suited to advanced students, conservatoire players, and professionals seeking a reliable solo and orchestral instrument.
