Description de l'instrument:

The French bass bow made by Susan Lipkins was lost during shipment and is assumed to have been stolen. The bow was last seen stored in a black Concord brand single bass bow case. The bow was stored inside the bow case along with a slip of paper containing my name (Gordon Smith), email address, and phone number. Handkerchiefs were also stuffed into the bow case to prevent the bow from moving inside the case. Ms. Lipkins wrote a description of the bow as follows: The French style bass bow is a Sartory model. The pernambuco stick is octagonal in shape, of a light brown color and is stamped, "S. LIPKINS N.Y." The ebony frog is mounted in sterling silver, with Parisian eyes. The button is solid, of sterling silver with ebony core. With mastodon tip and silver winding, this bow weighs 142.6 grams. The red arrow in the picture shows the location of the brand stamp "S. LIPKINS N.Y." See above for a link to a larger picture of the bow.
