Personal Assistant to the Music Director

The role of the Personal Assistant to the Music Director is a multifaceted position that provides comprehensive administrative, organisational, and logistical support to the Music Director (MD). This includes managing the MD's schedule, coordinating meetings, handling correspondence, and fostering continuity around the MD's initiatives. The PA will also play a pivotal role as a liaison between the MD and the full range of the ASO’s functions, including Orchestra Personnel, Library, Artistic Planning, Production, Operations, Development, Education, Marketing & Communications, the General Manager's office and the Executive Director’s office.

Key aspects of the role include:

Being present and providing on-site support to the Music Director for all her ASO activities when she is present in Atlanta, at flexible hours, to match her and the ASO's complex schedule, including evenings and weekends, and in addition to business-day responsibilities.

Communicating regularly and proactively with the Music Director between her Atlanta residencies to ensure continuity and facilitate smooth artistic and operational preparation processes in the run-up to each of her visits.

Coordinating the Music Director’s Orchestra Personnel obligations under the ASO’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with the General Manager’s Office and the Orchestra Personnel Team.

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented individual, with outstanding organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, strong prioritisation instincts, and a strong eye for presentation.

This is a part-time (50%) role, noting the requirent for full-time availability, at flexible hours, when the Music Director is present in Atlanta. There may be opportunities to build the role up to a full time role, depending on candidates' profile and experience.
