HR Lead

Primary Job Purpose
As HR Lead you are responsible for leading the HR Team and providing day-to-day HR advice to managers and staff. In addition, you will help shape and lead our people strategy.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Work in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team and Staff to develop and contribute to the BMT people strategy
2. Provide thorough HR advice and support to managers, ensuring ongoing compliance with legal and best practice requirements
3. Maintain HR policies and procedures, including the Employee Handbook & HR SharePoint
4. Ensure all HR related documents are kept up to date and stored in the correct locations
5. Collate, present and analyse HR data, including statistics, absence data and staff surveys, etc.
6. Advise and support managers with employee relations issues including performance management, absence management, disciplinary, grievance, etc.
7. Take minutes of meetings, write letters and prepare contracts
8. Work closely with the Payroll Officer to ensure a smooth and efficient transition of information from HR to Payroll, in a timely manner
9. Work with the HR Administrator to provide a smooth end-to-end administration service for all employment matters
10. Work with the HR Administrator to provide an effective end-to-end recruitment process, continuously looking for innovative ways to attract high calibre candidates
11. Manage the annual performance review process ensuring that each staff member has one and that results are collated and fed in to staff training plans
12. Organise courses and webinars to support the training and development of staff
13. Prepare induction programmes for new starters and encourage maximum take up of exit interviews for all leavers, reporting findings and making recommendations as appropriate
14. Look for continuous improvements, to ensure the delivery of a customer focused HR service
15. Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act/GDPR in relation to employee records
