The International Conducting Competition – Sofia invites emerging conductors from across the globe to step onto one of Europe’s most vibrant musical stages. The competition is open to participants of all nationalities, born after 1985.
Grand Prix
Guest-conducting engagements with orchestras in several countries during the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 seasons — an opportunity designed to open genuine artistic pathways.
1st Prize: €15,000
2nd Prize: €5,000
3rd Prize: €2,000
Additional Awards
“Sasha Popov” Orchestra Prize — presented by the musicians.
Audience Prize — reflecting the choice of the public.
Prize for Best Performance of a Bulgarian Work — honouring excellence in interpreting Bulgaria’s musical heritage.
