Opera Conducting -- Bizet's Carmen & Puccini’s Madama Butterfly

Are you a conductor with plenty of instrumental conducting experience but little podium time working with choirs, vocal soloists and ballet dancers? If so, or even if you wish to further develop your opera and ballet conducting skills, the Blue Danube Opera Conducting Masterclass is for you. Since 2002, we have partnered with professional opera houses in Romania, Bulgaria, and Serbia in Masterclasses and Competitions developing two generations of opera conductors who have gone on to be fluent and professionally active in the world of opera and ballet conducting with its demands and rewards. Two of opera’s most beloved works (Bizet’s Carmen and Puccini’s Madama Butterfly) will be rehearsed and publicly performed in French and Italian in fully-staged & costumed productions. Seven active-participant conductors & auditors will work with State Opera Stara Zagora (Bulgaria's) orchestra, choir, vocal soloists, pianists & dancers coached by the house's music director, Maestro Ivaylo Krinchev.
