And Other Duties RISING STARS 2026

And Other Duties, in association with Chetham’s School of Music, presents a nine-day, intensive conducting course with significant performance opportunities, several hours of daily podium time and the chance to prepare Mahler 1 with full orchestra.

There is a choice of three projects to apply for:

PROJECT ONE Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra (4 places)

PROJECT TWO Chetham’s Philharmonic Orchestra (2 places)

PROJECT THREE Chetham’s Opera Scenes (2 places)

There will be mentoring from Tim Redmond (Professor of Conducting, Guildhall School) & Karen Ní Bhroin (Senior Lecturer in Conducting, Mozarteum University, Salzburg), in addition to seminars with industry leaders and networking opportunities.

Closing date May 2, 2026 (priority given to applications received by April 12).
