Thomas & George Martin Ruggeri Viol 4/4 Double Bass

English Thomas & George Martin Ruggeri Viol 4/4 orchestral bass from 2013 for sale. D scale: 104.5cm, upper bout: 54cm, lower bout: 74cm (!), rib depth: 23.5cm, arched back, excellent condition, no cracks. This is a big 4/4 bass, but thanks to its ergonomic design, it is very easy to get around and comfortable to play up to the highest registers. Good response, great volume and projection, balanced, clearly defined sound with powerful bass. For many years this bass was played in the Bavarian State Orchestra where it was also featured as a solo bass. For the last two years, the bass has been used as a jazz bass, easily filling smaller to medium locations like Vienna Jazzland without amplification. Records and amplifies great (Schertler STAT-B included), built to be heard. It is currently fitted with Sonores hybrid strings, gut strings also suit it very well. The bass can be played and viewed in Vienna, Austria.
