Fine violoncello by Anton Stauber, made in Cologne circa 1880, with certificate of authenticity by Matteo Mazzotti, Cremona 2026.

A particularly attractive and musically outstanding example by this maker. The cello is fully original and internally consistent in all major parts, not a composite instrument, and preserved in very fine condition. Beautiful varnish and excellent overall preservation.
The sound is broad, mature and highly projecting, with quick response, depth and clarity across all registers. The cello has already proven itself in major professional auditions, including the Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic and a principal position at Zurich Opera House.
