£35,000 - £43,000 p/year
Professor of Violin & Education Manager – Music in Action, Jersey
Music in Action, a leading Jersey charity dedicated to inspiring, creating, and educating through music, seeks a highly skilled violinist and educator with a passion for community impact. Based on the beautiful island of Jersey, this full-time role combines teaching (55%), performance (5%), and management of educational outreach programmes (40%).
The successful candidate will teach upper strings to bursary students aged 8–11 in two inner-city schools (around 12 hours weekly), manage and expand the charity’s Outreach Programme delivering over 130 workshops per year, and devise educational activities in collaboration with professional animateurs. They will also perform regularly with the Jersey Chamber Orchestra, in school concerts, and at the Liberation International Music Festival and monthly recital series in St Helier.
Salary: £35,000–£43,000 (commensurate with experience)
