Position Summary – Director of Artistic Operations
The Florida Orchestra (TFO) seeks a dynamic Director of Artistic Operations to lead the planning and execution of all concert production and artistic logistics. This senior leadership role reports to the VP of Orchestra Operations and Artistic Planning and works closely with musicians, conductors, guest artists, staff, and venues to ensure world-class performance quality.
Key responsibilities include managing production logistics for all concerts and events, supervising the production and operations teams, overseeing departmental systems (including ArtsVision), and serving as a liaison between TFO and various internal and external stakeholders. The Director will play a key role in union negotiations, budgeting, and upholding the orchestra’s high artistic and operational standards.
Ideal candidates will have at least three years of professional experience in orchestra operations, including budgeting, union labor practices, and familiarity with orchestral repertoire and production requirements. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential. Evening and weekend availability is required.
TFO presents over 100 performances annually across Tampa Bay and beyond, with programs ranging from classical masterworks to pops and community outreach. The position is full-time, salaried ($80,000–$85,000), and includes health benefits, retirement contributions, PTO, and mileage reimbursement.
