International Competition for Young Symphony Orchestra Conductors

The International Competition for Young Symphony Orchestra Conductors will take place on 5–7 November 2026 in Daugavpils, Latvia, in collaboration with the Daugavpils Sinfonietta orchestra.
The competition is open to young conductors studying at music high schools and is divided into two age categories: Category A – 16–18 years and Category B – 19–20 years.
The competition consists of three rounds. The first round is held online and is based on submitted video recordings. Selected participants will be invited to Daugavpils for the second round and final, where they will work and perform with the Daugavpils Sinfonietta.
Participation in the competition is free of charge.
Applications must be submitted by 5 October 2026.
The winners will receive diplomas, professional opportunities with the Daugavpils Sinfonietta, and the Grand Prix winner will receive €500 and an opportunity to assist at the Daugavpils Opera Festival 2027.
