Versatile master bow in fine condition with superb playing characteristics ‒ immediate response, high tension, and a mature, rounded, clear sound ‒, made by Philipp Paul NÜRNBERGER (1882‒1946), Franz Albert Junior's elder son.
Its stick’s flexibility, yet sufficient firmness facilitate effortless handling, tonal brilliance and mighty sound projection ‒ on a par with French bows valued 2-3 times as much!
Experts on 19th/20th century German bows (Grünke, Köstler, Wohlleber, Schröder, et al.) agree that, in terms of craftsmanship, Philipp's bows ‒ esp. those of his early period, such as this one ‒ are often superior to those of his prominent father.
