The model is “Il Cannone”l del Gesú. Orange-brown varnish in color on a golden ground, slightly antiqued. The back is made from two pieces pf mapke with medium flame, and the top is made from two pieces of spruce with medium width grain.
It is a cello with a huge sound but not strident. The A string sound is specially powerfull but wide. It is very well equilibrated in the four strings, there is not any of them particularly better or worst that the others. It has a lot of resonance, in forte as in piano, but it is also very clear when playing fast. The tone is very nice, specially in piano and mezzoforte, but it doesn’t lose it on forte. Even when playing piano, the sound does not disappear, but travels through all the hall.
