The Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (PYPO) is committed to fostering the talents of young musicians through exceptional musical experiences. Our programs provide a supportive community for youth to explore their passion for music through orchestral and band experiences, performances, and educational opportunities. In existence for over thirty years, PYPO currently serves 500 students ranging from elementary through high school annually throughout the Western Pennsylvania region. Students participate in five ensembles which span three levels: Overture, Intermezzo, and Philharmonic. Students also participate in festivals, summer camps, performances, and international concert tours which take place every three years.

Position Overview:
The Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra is looking for an Executive Director who will play a pivotal role in leading PYPO to new heights. Working closely with the Board of Directors and staff, you will address organizational issues, oversee daily operations, fundraising, staffing, planning, community outreach, and general supervisory responsibilities. The Executive Director will work closely with staff and Board members to implement and manage the annual budget and to develop and grow the organization in order to ensure the fulfillment of our mission to foster a lifelong love of music and learning.

Key Responsibilities:
The role of Executive Director is full-time with a flexible schedule. Additionally, attendance at evening and weekend rehearsals/concerts is required during the season. The salary range is $45,000-$55,000 based on experience with the potential to earn more. The successful candidate will be required to obtain all appropriate clearances within 6 months of employment. Position is available immediately.
