Advocacy & External Affairs Manager

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra is seeking an experienced and strategic communicator to join our team as Advocacy & External Affairs Manager.

This newly created role will lead the SCO’s advocacy and external affairs activity, helping to strengthen the organisation’s profile, influence and relationships with key stakeholders. Working closely with the Evaluation & Impact Manager and colleagues across the organisation, you will help articulate the value and impact of the SCO’s work, developing compelling advocacy initiatives and strategic relationships that strengthen support for the organisation among policymakers, funders, partners and supporters.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, experience of advocacy, public affairs, stakeholder engagement or external relations, and the ability to translate evidence and insight into clear, persuasive and influential messages. You will play a key role in ensuring the SCO is recognised as an important cultural organisation and a valued contributor to Scotland’s cultural, educational and civic life.
