XIX International Composition Competition Francisco Escudero

Hauspoz, the Accordion Association of the Basque Country, announces the XIX Francisco Escudero International Accordion Composition Competition. Open to composers of any age and nationality, the competition features two categories: (1) works for solo accordion or chamber music including accordion (up to 4 performers, max. 10 minutes, composed after January 2022); and (2) pedagogical chamber works for students aged 6 to 18. The first prize includes €2,000 and publication, with a premiere at the next edition’s Gala. In the pedagogical category, the selected composer will receive an €1100 commission to create a new accordion ensemble piece (up to 5 voices), to be premiered at the Topakord Meeting. Scores must be anonymous and submitted digitally via the official form by September 25, 2026. Participation is free of charge. The competition aims to foster the creation of new repertoire and support emerging and established composers alike.
