Principal Timpani (with obligation to play percussion)

Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra announces an audition for the position of Principal Timpani (with obligation to play percussion)
Salary: from €3000 to €3300 gross.
Candidate Requirements:
• high professional level
• at least 5 years of experience in a professional orchestra

The audition will be held in two rounds:
• Round I – Video Audition
• Round II – Live Audition

Round I – Video Audition
1. A marimba piece of the performer’s choice (up to 5 minutes).
2. Snare drum Bent Lylloff - Årchus Etude No.9
3. Timpani Nick Wood Etude No.22 from ‘Symphonic Studies for Timpani’
4. Xylophone Gershwin – Overture to Porgy and Bess
5. Campanelli Dukas - ‘L'apprenti sorcier’

The video audition will be used as a qualification round for the live audition in March 2026.

• The video link must be submitted by March 1, 2026
• Invitations to the live audition will be sent to selected candidates by March 8, 2026
