Fife

The U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, “Official Escort to the President,” is a U.S. Army premier band permanently stationed at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, VA. Members perform using musical instruments and wear uniforms similar to those worn by military musicians of the Continental Army during the American Revolution. The Fife and Drum Corps performs ceremonies at official military and government events at the White House, Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, and Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. The Fife and Drum Corps also supports the Army’s mission by traveling nationally and internationally to perform shows, parades, and special events.

Fife Applicants may audition on Fife or Piccolo – no prior fife experience necessary. The prescreening audition will consist of an application and video recording, due August 27, 2026.

Applicants invited to the live audition will have all travel expenses paid by the U.S. Army to audition at The Fife and Drum Corps on historic Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, in Arlington, VA on October 29-30, 2026.
