Encore Music Projects Cello course, Masterclass with Ben Davies

Ben Davies combines exceptional artistry with a remarkable ability to nurture emerging talent, making him one of the most inspiring cello teachers of his generation.
Ben Davies grew up in York before studying at the University of Manchester and the Royal Academy of Music, training with renowned quartet cellists Ioan Davies, Bernard Gregor Smith and Derek Simpson. His teaching has helped shape exceptional young musicians, including Sheku Kanneh Mason, BBC Young Musician of the Year 2016, and this summer, cellists at Encore Music Projects 13th International Summer School, have a rare chance to work with him through a bespoke programme offering one to one tuition and chamber ensembles coaching.
A highly respected teacher, Ben is currently a cello professor at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Purcell School (London) and the Junior Royal Academy of Music. His students have progressed to all major UK conservatoires.
