BLUE DANUBE INTERNATIONAL OPERA CONDUCTING MASTERCLASS 2027 (I)

Join us for rehearsals and performances of two of opera's greatest Masterpieces -- Verdi's Aida, and Puccini's Tosca. We have partnered with European opera theaters in Masterclasses and Competitions since 2002, developing generations of opera conductors, many of whom have gone on to professional careers. Work intensively for 9 days with a professional opera theater's orchestra, chorus, vocal soloists, pianists and stage directors in one of Eastern Europe's best houses -- State Opera Stara Zagora in Bulgaria. Conductors have the opportunity to acquire a high quality video/audio of their conducting in rehearsals and performances which can be tailor-made to their specifications and are essential for applying for positions, programs, competitions, etc. Two conducting teachers guide but do not interfere with conductors' work while on the podium. Each of the eight conductors accepted are able to rehearse segments of BOTH operas but will have a performance assignment of 1/4 of one of the two.
