Principal Tuba West Texas Symphony & Resident Brass Quintet

Description: This position includes serving as Principal Tuba with the West Texas Symphony and with the resident quintet, the Lone Star Brass. Due to the performance opportunities of this position, the successful candidate must live in the Midland-Odessa area during the season (August through May). The first season is probationary with the possibility for more permanence. The position will commence with the 2025-2026 season. Each season features a minimum of four Masterworks programs, three Pops & Family programs, and an annual cycle of The Nutcracker with the Midland Festival Ballet. Additional series may include educational programs and other potential collaborations. A typical season will hold at least 35 orchestral services and recitals. Pay Scale: Principal orchestral pay scale is $105.00 per service. This position also includes an annual quintet stipend of $11,803.00, paid in monthly installments during the course of the season (August 1, 2025 through May 31, 2026 in its entirety).
