Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava invites applications for the position of Concertmaster

The auditions will be held on 7th May 2026 at 10.00 AM
Venue: SND new building, Pribinova 17, 819 01 Bratislava
Application deadline 27th April 2026
Start date 1st June 2026
Applicants are kindly requested to submit their applications including:
Brief professional CV and a copy of the highest attained degree certificate in Music
(minimum requirement is finished degree university studies in a given speciality)
Personal data processing (GDPR) consent (a permit written in the application mail).

Audition repertoire:
• W. A. Mozart: one of the Concertos for violin and orch.: Nr. 3 (KV216), Nr. 4. (KV218), Nr. 5. (KV219) 1. and 2. Movement with the cadenza,
• the 1. Movement from one of the following Concertos: L.van Beethoven, J. Brahms, P. I. Tchaikovski, A. Dvořák, J. Sibelius, F. M. Bartholdy (e minor) with cadenza
• J. S. Bach – one piece from 6 Violin Sonatas and Partitas BWV 1001-1006
• orchestral excerpts / solo excerpts from the standard repertoire

• sight reading

The audition will be three rounds, the 3rd round will be a rehearsal with the orchestra

Should candidates require a répétiteur to be provided by the SND free of charge, they are kindly asked to submit the score to the above address 2 weeks prior to the audition at the latest. Candidates are also welcome to bring their own piano répétiteur at their own expense.
We offer the winning candidate a starting salary Euro 2.200€ gross + artistic and personal bonuses + 1-week extra leave in addition to the legally set vacation.
