Sub-Principal 2nd Violin, sitting No.4

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the above position. This is a full-time, contract position.

Based in Poole, Dorset, BSO perform extensively across the south and south-west of England, nationally and internationally, and also deliver an extensive range of education and community work, through its award-winning Participate department.

The Orchestra’s Chief Conductor is Mark Wigglesworth; Leader Amyn Merchant.

Single round, unaccompanied auditions will be held in summer/autumn 2026. If you are unable to travel to Poole, please contact applications@bsorchestra.co.uk, and we can discuss alternative arrangements.

Requirements:

• 1st movement of a Mozart Violin Concerto (no. 4 or 5) (without cadenza)
• 1st movement of a major concerto, Beethoven or later (without cadenza)
