Italy Montani Costante 1880

An Italian luthier bought this instrument in the '90s, let's call it a Malagutti heritage. It was in his workshop for years waiting to be restored since then. It's an authentic nord-lombardy region instrument commercialized by Montani Costante, apprentice of Albertini Carlo (XIX century). Originally the double-bass was builded as 3-strings instrument, with hand-made mechanics, gut strings, 3-holes tailpiece, oak end pin and dark mahogany fingerboard.

The double-bass was modified into a 4-strings instrument by changing the fingerboard and tailpiece.

I've won two permanent positions and several temporary contracts with this bass. It's definitely a great in large venues and on stage.
