Baroque Viola:
Gerlinde Reutterer, Wien, 2009

An elegant baroque viola made by the Viennese luthier, Gerlinde Reutterer, in 2009.
The label reads, "Gerlinde Reutterer, Wien, An 2009"
A very well made copy of a viola by Louis Guersan, french luthier active from c. 1725-1770 in Paris. Typical for that time, it is a small instrument with a body length of 39,4 cm.
The viola plays with ease and, despite its size, has a surprising full and rich sound, especially on the C and G strings. It is suitable for baroque as well as early classical works, making it an excellent choice for various historical performance projects.
I have used this instrument professionally in the past years but now that I found another which is more similar in size to my modern one, I decided it is time to sell this beauty.
It is in very good condition, no cracks or restorations and has been seen for maintenance by G. Reutterer herself.
