Heckel #62xx

This instrument was purchased in 1968 from Mark Popkin via my teacher, Loren Glickman. Mr. Popkin bought it for US resale from the original owner, the retired 2nd bassoon of the Cologne Opera, so I am the second owner. It has been continuously played professionally and carefully maintained and serviced over the decades. It has high C, D, and E keys, body lock, whisper key lock (located on the boot joint), and trill keys. It has never been refinished and has the original ivory ring. It includes Heckel bocal #2VCD, purchased new in 1968, and Heckel bocal #1CD. I have played it professionally, primarily as principal bassoon, since 1970 in regional orchestras in Cleveland, St. Louis, Washington DC, Peoria, and in my current location, Champaign-Urbana, IL. The bassoon has been carefully serviced and maintained and has the beautiful sound for which 6000s are famous.
