Professor of Accompaniment (piano)

Scope and Discipline of the Position

The position is a 100 percent permanent position, with commencement on August 1, 2026.
The position includes teaching various accompaniment subjects for piano students at the bachelor's and master's levels, as well as accompaniment and guidance in interpretation for students with other main instruments.



Responsibilities

The responsibilities include teaching and supervising students, artistic development work, and administrative tasks related to academic activities. NMH expects the appointed person to actively engage in academic collaboration with colleagues.

Part of the position involves teaching accompaniment for piano students in bachelor's and master's degree programs in accordance with current curricula. Additionally, the role includes serving as an accompanist for students in other instrumental groups.
Some of the work is related to various forms of group classes, masterclasses, and concerts. Teaching will be provided both as individual guidance and in groups. The position will also include teaching at lower educational levels and may involve teaching chamber music.
The appointee is expected to take the initiative, plan, and lead seminars and courses within their field in collaboration with other teachers in the department. The appointee will also participate in the preparation and implementation of the academy's entrance exams and examinations.

Weekly presence at the academy is required.
