The Philharmonia is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Tutti Violin II.
The Philharmonia is a world-class symphony orchestra for the 21st century, led by Principal Conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali and our titled conductors; Marin Alsop & Esa-Pekka Salonen. Based in London at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, leading a busy international touring schedule and resident in cities and at festivals across the UK as well as streaming online, the Philharmonia creates thrilling performances for a global audience.
Auditions will be held at the Philharmonia Offices, 6 Chancel Street, London, on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 November. Auditions will consist of one round and will not be screened. An accompanist will be provided. Video auditions may be offered to applicants who for financial, geographical, or accessibility reasons cannot attend an audition in the UK during these dates.
To apply, please submit your CV via Muvac and fill out the EDI monitoring form.
In the event that the volume and/or quality of applications are exceptionally high, we may offer further auditions at later dates. Additionally, you may be asked to submit a short video pre-audition consisting of the first movement of a Mozart concerto (unaccompanied). The deadline for the pre-audition video submission would be Monday 20 October. Your participation in the in-person audition would be confirmed on or before Friday 31 October, based on the assessment of your video submission.
At the Philharmonia, we are dedicated to diversifying our audiences, programmes and workforce. We welcome and encourage applicants from backgrounds that are currently underrepresented in orchestras and invite applicants to declare underrepresented characteristics on their application form.
