Product Specialist - Woodwind (Full Time)

Just Flutes

Product Specialist - Woodwind (Full Time)

(full-time, permanent)

Join Our Team
We’re looking for a woodwind player to join our friendly showroom team as a full-time Product Specialist.

This is an opportunity to combine your knowledge and enthusiasm for woodwind instruments with a varied role helping musicians choose instruments and accessories that suit their playing, needs and budget.

We would particularly welcome applications from clarinet and saxophone players, as we continue to develop the single-reed side of our business.

You’ll meet a wide range of musicians, from beginners choosing their first instrument to experienced amateurs, students, teachers and professional players. Good advice is at the heart of what we do, so you’ll take the time to understand each customer and help them make an informed decision with confidence.

What you’ll do
Help and advise customers
You’ll work with customers in our showroom, as well as answering enquiries by telephone and email. You’ll listen to what they need, explain the options clearly and help them through the process of choosing and purchasing an instrument or accessory.

Support the day-to-day running of the business
The role also includes a range of administrative and operational tasks, including processing finance applications, preparing insurance valuations and maintaining online product listings. Confidence using IT systems, accuracy and attention to detail are important.

Represent us at events
You’ll have opportunities to represent the business at music events in the UK and occasionally further afield. These are a valuable part of our relationship with the wider woodwind community and a chance to meet players, teachers and other people working within the industry.

Work as part of a small specialist team
We work closely together, so good communication, flexibility and a willingness to help where needed are important. At busy times, you’ll need to work efficiently while maintaining the high standard of service our customers expect.

What we’re looking for
You don’t need to know everything about every instrument when you arrive – we’ll provide training and help you develop your product knowledge.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable woodwind player
  • Enjoys talking to other musicians and helping them make informed choices
  • Communicates clearly and confidently in person, by telephone and in writing
  • Is comfortable learning and using different IT systems
  • Is organised, accurate and able to manage several tasks during busy periods
  • Takes a practical, proactive approach to solving problems
  • Works well as part of a small team
  • Has a full, valid UK driving licence
  • Is happy to travel to music events when required

Applications from players across the woodwind family are welcome, and we would particularly like to hear from clarinettists and saxophonists.

What we offer
You’ll receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to build your knowledge of the instruments, products and systems you’ll work with.

You’ll also benefit from a generous staff discount on instruments and accessories, alongside the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience within a specialist musical-instrument business.

Interested?
If you enjoy helping other musicians, have a genuine interest in woodwind instruments and would like to develop your career within the music industry, we’d be pleased to hear from you.
